Testimonials

"We were looking for another high quality meet and had always heard good things about Mansfield. This was a great meet. I was impressed by the athletes and how smoothly it was run, and we've been to a lot of meets. This is my 25th year of coaching, and this was probably the best meet we have been to. - from interview with Mansfield News Journal reporter."

"I competed in my first Mansfield Mehock Relay meet in 1972 having emigrated from Jamaica to Toronto Canada. The Mansfield Relays was considered to be the largest high school relay in North America. Oh, what a thrill! I returned to the Relays in 1976 as a coach with Toronto Michael Power. The Mansfield Mehock Relays has been a fantastic highlight of my athletic and coaching career.

"The thing that makes the Mehock Relays is its rich history. It is exciting to run in the same meet as Jesse Owens, Harrison Dillard and other past Olympians. As long as I am coaching, I will come to Mansfield."

"Mehock is about passion for what you do It’s about welcoming coaches and personnel from across the state, and across the border, to our community. It’s about providing an opportunity for young people to push their abilities in honest, hard, quality competition. I always feel it has been a privilege to have made even the smallest contribution of time and effort for that to happen. "
